This week the City of Pittsburgh is celebrating its third annual Inclusive Innovation week, full of events highlighting the diverse community of Pittsburgh, the need for accessibility and inclusion, and those at the forefront of making Pittsburgh welcoming. The Idea Foundry team has been active at events throughout the week.
On February 21st, Idea Foundry was chosen as one of four winners of Google.org's Impact Challenge Pittsburgh, which aims to support non-profits working to create economic opportunity in the region.
This past year we celebrated Idea Foundry’s 15th birthday, which allowed us to reflect a bit on what we have accomplished in the past 15 years and what we see on the horizon for the future. For 2018, we want to be a part of a stronger Pittsburgh through job creation, innovation, inclusivity, and diversity. Here are our 2018 New Year’s resolutions a few days early, to bring about this vision for the region.
This week at Idea Foundry is also a Throwback Thursday, inspired by this photo taken in 1938 of the building which houses our offices. The ideas at work here today would have likely been beyond the dreams of those people eating in the Craig Restaurant in 1938, but the tenacity of the city characterized us both then and now.
With Thanksgiving tomorrow, we would like to take a moment to reflect on 5 things we are thankful for.
