Equitable Entrepreneurship Program

The EE Program supports immigrant and minority led small businesses and startups through personalized investment and services.

Idea Foundry's Equitable Entrepreneurship program provides support through a combination of investment and hands-on services to help you navigate the pathways and resources for your businesses success. This 3-month program is open to idea-stage and existing small business and startups. Idea Foundry has been supporting businesses using this model for over 15 years, with over 200 companies in our portfolio. Services include:

  • Individualized business development services and support from our staff and partners. We work hands-on with each company to help identify challenges and opportunities based on their unique needs and stage.
  • Connections to Idea Foundry’s network and resources and the possibility to apply for continued funding and support through Idea Foundry's other programs.
  • Investment loan of up to $10,000: $5,000 cash + $5,000 value in services, without collateral or personal guarantees.

Since inception, Idea Foundry has been operating a unique Accelerator model which is today encompassed under the Impact Innovations brand. Our focus areas have evolved with the changing needs and priorities of the region. While the innovations we work with address specific and often complex problems, they create an impact in areas which are basic societal necessities.

Eligibility requirements

  1. Applicants must identify as an immigrant or minority
  2. Applicants may have an idea-stage small business or startup, having identified a potential business model, goals, and having an idea of the services and capital they will need to reach them
  3. Applicants may also have an existing small businesses looking to grow or pivot

How to apply

  1. Idea Foundry evaluates applications for the EE Program in batches. Please refer to the section above to see when the next application period is.
  2. Please reach out to us through the Inquire form with a brief description of your idea and needs. Our staff will get back to you to you on whether to schedule a Vetting Meeting with us. Only if you have completed a Vetting Meeting and you are advised at the end of that meeting to submit an application should you proceed with the remaining steps.
  3. Each team member must fill out a Business Team Member Profile so that we can collect resumes/CVs, contact information, and other information to help us understand you better.
  4. Complete and submit the Equitable Entrepreneurship Application.
  5. The team at Idea Foundry will get back to you about your application within 2–3 weeks after the application deadline.
