Equitable Entrepreneurship

Pursuing the Pittsburgh Dream

The Equitable Entrepreneurship Program offers business development support and funding to communities that have historically been underserved in the entrepreneurial ecosystem. We believe this will foster stability for communities and improve Pittsburgh’s economy and quality of life. The EE Program combines our experience supporting entrepreneurs across diverse sectors, our leadership in global collaboration to enhance our region, and support from partners active in immigrant and minority communities.

Introducing The EE Program

The Equitable Entrepreneurship program is an initiative from Idea Foundry supporting immigrant and minority entrepreneurs and small business owners in our region. We are looking for participants with an idea for a small business, an existing small business looking to scale, or an idea-stage innovation. Applicants are not limited to innovation-based businesses. Our program emphasizes region-wide opportunities not limited or focused on any one neighborhood.
Selected applicants will receive:
  • 3 months of individualized, hands-on business development services and support from our staff
  • Up to $10,000 investment loans: $5,000 in cash + $5,000 value in services, without collateral or personal guarantees and payments based on business success
  • Continuing access to Idea Foundry’s network and support
  • The opportunity to apply for continued funding and support through Idea Foundry’s Impact Innovations Accelerator
