Through Idea Transformation, Idea Foundry helps businesses to germinate from an entrepreneur's initial concept. Fellowships under the program provide resources and guidance to concentrate efforts on developing the idea's commercial potential, so that entrepreneurs benefit from expert mentoring, exposure in relevant business areas, and networking with business and funding resources.
Funding for a Fellowship can total $100,000 to help cover payroll, computer equipment, software, and other associated costs as the idea moves to potential commercialization. Each submitted idea is evaluated and, if selected, funded appropriately based on the specific needs to commercialize it. Fellowships are intended to fund commercialization of the awarded idea - and not to fund further research work.
