The Life Science Start-Up Accelerator Program
The Life Science Start-Up Accelerator Program targets early stage life science innovations in the pre-commercialization stage—i.e. the stage between conclusion of research and the beginning of commercialization. The identification of commercial potential includes activities such as evaluation of the business application of intellectual property assets, protection of those assets and the evaluation of the commercial landscape.
The Program is an initiative between multiple organizations—The City of Pittsburgh / Urban Redevelopment Authority, the University of Pittsburgh and Idea Foundry—to provide reasons at this crucial early stage. The ultimate goal of the program is to form up to 15 start-ups over two years and assist inventors in pursuing the most feasible commercialization path forward.
More information on the program and application process is available here. Also, check out a feature story regarding the Accelerator in the Pittsburgh Business Times.
